President-elect Luis Abinader said that medical supplies procurement in his government will be in coordination with the Pan American Health Organization. He said this includes purchases made by the Ministry of Public Health, the National Health Service and Promese, the government pharmacy chain. He said the decision is to ensure transparency in the purchases. He made the announcement in a tweet.
Despite the existence of the joint purchasing agreement that creates volume so the SICA bloc countries can buy at better prices and quality, the Medina administration did not take advantage of the resource during the Covid-19.
