Point of continuing the curfew?

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is the point of maintaining this curfew? Is it about crime? Does Covid only infect people after 7pm on weekdays/5pm on weekends?

When they initiated the curfew they had around 2,000 cases a day and the hospitals almost collapsed. right now it's down to 600 per day. Don't be fooled the curfew was very effective

While I hate to do it, I have to agree that the curfew has seemed to be effective. No late night partying inside. The parties on the beach are of minimal risk, but the ones inside where people get f'd up and are very crowded provides a higher risk. I hope now that the hysteria has subsided they will relax them until 10 or so at night.

A 10pm curfew makes much more sense.
