In the mountain town of Constanza, temperatures are dropping below 12 Celsius in the early morning. In Santo Domingo and several other municipalities, the temperatures are dropping below 22 Celsius. This is “freezing cold.” Time to save up on air-conditioning.

The weather news is even better. The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) forecasts sunny skies through the upcoming weekend.

Love the cool nights. Could use a break from the rains for the week and the dogs second that....

Constanza is the best place to be in the DR, in my opinion.
For mountain towns, Jarabacoa is my favorite. If Claro would
had a fiber optic connection up there in 2014, I'd a tried
living up there for a year or two. Ended up back down in the
Capital for second time instead.
I'll be using my Honeywell UberHeat Ceramic Heater
again this evening here in Santiago for sure. Well worth
the $35 US price I paid for it 4 years ago.

What's a "heater?" lol

I spent a few nights up in Constanza many moons ago and we needed quilts to battle the cold. I can't wait to visit that other hotel up there and see what it's like.

I spent navidad in Paso Bajito , half way between Jarabacoa and Constanza in 2012 and the temperature was 9 Celsius at 10 am, so probably 6-7 at 6 am. With the wind blowing it was frigging cold. Actually had to put a light coat on.

I used to laugh at people who said they were cold in DR. Well, my in-laws picked us up early to spend the day at their place on the mountain in Ocoa. The area they call la malagueta. O. M. G. I thought I would die. With the wind blowing, it was freezing. It was 12 degrees when we got there, and it had warmed up. I had to stay inside, and it was cold in there too!
