The two Raquel’s get their first vaccines

First Lady Raquel Arbaje and Vice President Raquel Peña received the first doses of their Covid-19 vaccine on Monday, 3 May 2021. Both fall in the 50+ age group that is now open for vaccinating.

First Lady Raquel Arbaje received her vaccine in the Club San Carlos. Both she and her husband, President Luis Abinader, had suffered from Covid-19 in June 2020, shortly before the presidential election. President Luis Abinader, who is to be 54 in July, has yet to be vaccinated.

Vice President Raquel Peña, who is the coordinator of the Health Cabinet of the Abinader administration, received her vaccine at the Martial Arts Combat Pavilion at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
