Customs Agency announces record collections for first four months of 2021

The Customs Agency (DGA) director proudly announces that collections are up and spending is down. In a press release, Eduardo Sanz Lovaton reports that for the first four months of 2021, the DGA has exceeded the collection goals established by the Ministry of Finance by more than 30%. Furthermore, he said the entity from August 2020 to March 2021 has achieved administrative savings of RD$163.5 million.

The general director of Customs, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, reported that between January and April 2021 it had collected a total of RD$53.57 billion which represents RD$12.79 billion more than budgeted.

Concerning administrative savings, the director says the greatest efficiencies have been in hiring, reducing representation expenses, rationalizing fuel expenses, and eliminating the use of bonds for various purposes.
