Is Haiti ready for voting for a woman as president?

I guess I'm not the only one who was thinking that way but didn't want to say it. I also wonder if a power grab was her only (or primary) motivation.

I guess to anyone with ties to Haiti it might matter but in the bigger scope of things who cares. The next one will be a corrupts as the last ones. Maybe more if they where paying attention.

Fool me once shame on you, twice? Shame on me.
Or as the Who sang it, Wont Get Fooled Again
Sadly, probably.

I read that the CEP (the electoral council) had received the credentials for 126 candidates for President... which really broke my heart. There was SO much promise.. so many folks who were saying that "the opposition" as in "civil society" was "unified" -- certainly does not seem so. It is still not clear to me who exactly is PRO Moise... As in would support Mme.. There are certainly enough men in the PHTK.

Haiti is strongly patriarchal but they have had women- a president and strong candidates - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ertha_Pascal-Trouillot. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirlande_Manigat
