The Tigres del Licey, Leones del Escogido, Aguilas Cibaeñas, Estrellas Orientales, Toros del Este and Gigantes del Cibao will compete for the Banreservas Cup as of Wednesday, 27 October 2021. There will be games at the stadiums in Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Francisco de Macorís, La Romana and San Pedro de Macorís.
The government commercial bank, Banreservas is the lead sponsor of the tournament. The bank will be raffling game tickets to its customers.
The regular series of the 2021-2022 winter baseball tournament begins on Wednesday with the first game to be played at the Cibao Stadium when the Gigantes del Cibao will play the Aguilas Cibaeñas in Santiago. On that same evening, the Tigres del Licey will play the Leones del Escogido at the Quisqueya-Juan Marichal ball park in Santo Domingo. The regular season ends 17 December 2021.
