Thoughts about Abinader choosing a new vice president running mate in 2024? If so, who? Has a sitting President ever changed running mates at reelection?

In 1970, Balaguer and his VP had a falling out. The VP was forced out, and Balaguer won reelection with a new running mate.
Dropping a running mate, especially one who's part of the political landscape, is dangerous, I think.

Collado would be a smart choice, and a VP position in 2024 would probably propel him to power in 2028.

I meant to write "who is NOT part of..."

The current VP worked in academia, and had never ran for office before.

I can easily see an Abinader/Collado combo, with Collado going for President in 2028 with Carolina as his VP

Maybe. Seems to easy though. Only if they don’t run into any big problems or scandals. Right now they don’t have much competition.
