EL NUEVO DIARIO, PUERTO PLATA.- Agents from the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) seized 180 packages of suspected marijuana in the port of Puerto Plata on Wednesday, with the support of representatives from the Public Prosecutor's Office and inspectors from the General Directorate of Customs (DGA). According to a statement, the alleged drugs came from Miami, United States, and were intercepted in a van in three boxes at the local customs office, located at the old dock in the province. The operation was led by Lieutenant Colonel Luis Alberto Alfonseca Castillo and Major José Martínez González, attached to the DNCD, as well as prosecutors Hilda Patricia Lagonbra and Inocencia Familia. According to information provided to this media outlet, the alleged drug packages were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding purposes.
