thanks chip.....

That means I wont be going...I am not paying $300-$330 for seats that I am constantly chewing on my knees in..... have sat in the best seats in the stadium.....and they are not worth the money they ask....

I paid up to about $100 per ticket for the Dominican finals games....maybe id pay $150.....$300?? keep em

I might feel bad if the Aguilas repeat though.... ha ha ha

maybe Ill spring for some bleacher seats for me and my Gfs family if they are NOT too crazy....

bob

Whoops!!!! Sorry Bob - those are for the complete series - like 12 games.

so Chip, what's the price of a living room floor bed for a night ?

If it was me in this big old house of mine I'd probably say yes, but I don't know if I could convince the wife. She has historically been hesitant to have my friends sleep over for some reason.

I'm going to check today when I go into town for some cheap hotels and see if there are even booking in February yet.

Please let us know what you can find out. I already know the dates and can make a commitment to booking even that early. I think staying in Santiago is going to be much more interesting and convenient then some AI outside of town. Thanks you very much!

Hotels in Santiago

Hotel Casino Matum has plenty of rooms. There are centrally located on Las Carreras and their phone # is 809-581-3107. They start from RD1600 on up.

Hotel Colonial won't take reservations until December and they are centrally located. Rooms with AA are RD550. They have very simple rooms with cable - we actually stayed there the first night of our honeymoon.

Failing these, just about any Cabana Turistic/Aparta Hotel will have rooms available and they can be found in the yellow pages.

Puerta Plata and SDC

Who posted the message about buses from up north. I might be interested in that, but only if they don't leave until the game is over. The first game of this year's in Puerto Rico went 18 innings and over 6 hours. Then they did the opening cermonies before starting the 2nd game. The game ended at 0300 and I was there. I don't leave early so if the bus was going to leave at a set time I'd be out.

Whoever said the games would be over at 10 PM is sorely mistaken. The first game starts at 4 PM, and almost ALWAYS takes well over 3 hours, and the second game NEVER starts at 8 PM. I've been to 23 Caribbean World Series game, and only 2 have been under 3 hours, and those are the last day when those two teams are eliminated.

And if tickets are on sale on the Aguilas web site, would a non-Spanish speaker be able to figure out how to get them through there. I want to book mine now.

I would rather stay in Santiago, but there is no ocean there. Are there buses that go up to the ocean in the morning so we can hang out before the games? Staying in Santiago (although I've heard despite the new hotel being built there isn't room) would be easier, but resorts would be more fun.

Can somebody post the link to the Aguilas web site where the tickets are listed? I went to what I thought was there web site, and though I don't speak Spanish, I didn't see anything in regards to this upcoming season, and I didn't see anything that says boletos

That was me. We are working on getting this organized right now. And as a fan I can guarantee the bus wont leave until the game or games are over!!!

Once I have more concrete info I will post it here. BUT, we can't as yet even get a block of tickets! The office says to contact them in December! Unreal. We will make plans ahead of time then just add in the cost of whatever ticket combination you want.

.::Aguilas Cibaenas::.

but it was last updated in early feb.!!!!!!!! ha ha ha....

plus i never saw any info on buying tickets......

bob

Call (809) 575-1810 for tickets. US335 for the 1st level and US300 for the uppper one - that is for all 12 games.

I also find it odd that they can't sell a block of tickets - so whomever heard that might (not you Bob) have a Dominican call instead to make sure.

How about tickets for 1-2 games. What the price would be and where to buy them? I like baseball but not enough for 12 games epessially because I also want to see the city and other places around it.

for sure you can buy them the day of the game...

there are a bunch of insiders who buy up huge numbers of tickets and hawk them out front before the game.....it probably will cost you about 2000 pesos minimum for the first sections( best seats).......EACH!!

We actually had a tour operator go to buy tickets. They are not yet available for actual purchase apparently as the schedule is not set........ or so he was told. And yes he is Dominican. I will post more as we get updates.

December is possible

I don't think we'll have to wait until December. I bought my tickets for Puerto Rico in late November, but I was one of the first. They told me people down there do things last minute. I wouldn't recommend waiting for the day of the game if you are interested in seeing the Dominican play. If you want to see Mexico vs. Venezuela the place will be a quarter full, but when Puerto Rico, and especially the DR play, it'll be standing room only. December is a real possibility, but I check back peroidically, because I want them as soon as I can. Last year when I bought I had front row behind the 1st base dugout, and I want similar this year for all 12 games. And, at least for the last 2 I went to you could buy for all 12 (in Puerto Rico I bought for all six DAYS, so they charged for five and gave the 6th free. That was their promotion. But you could buy just for particular days.)

I'll keep checking back. I'm booking my stuff, probably up in Puerto Plata, because my traveling friends want to be at the beach.

I don't know what info all you guys have but the ticket office in Santiago told me some time back that the have the tickets on sale at that time.

Therefore, if you want the tickets call the number I posted them and find out what the payment terms are.
