Drove to La Romana this morning around 8am from Punta Cana. Easy "no drama" drive. Ont the way back around 1130am, once again, no excitement. Once past the last toll booth, winds and rain whipped up a notch. I live 2 miles west of the airport. All afternoon, wind gusts and some rain, but nothing blowing down the street (garbage pails etc). No doubt those along the shoreline would feel more, but here, my daughters decided to hop in the pool for a few minutes. Having been through a few of these in my 15 years local, I would peg the gusts at 40-50 and the average winds in the high 20's.

Now I sit watching hockey with a nice breeze blowing through the windows.

This was my exact take here in Sam. I don't have a pool, but there was simply no drama here

It was a Cat 5 when it hit PR. It was a Cat 3 when it passed us on the north coast. It might have clipped PC(?), but it never hit the north coast.
I do not think it was 3. I have been looking for the data but haven't found it yet

I found this. Here the wind velocity shows it was not hurricane but TS force winds when we were hit

See my above post from Fortune. It did not hit with cat 3 force winds. It was very specific

Wind velocity reduced by 1/2 between the 70 miles off the coast and hitting land in PC. The Mona canal effect
