I wish i could forecast something, but it is running under its own influences, no steering currents or High/Low pressure ridges to watch and then get a good guess on directions.
It is on its fight with our Landmass and no chance to do any math on it.
I will look on h radar again in an hour or so, but it is far feom the PR station, coverage will end soon feom there.
I've been following the weather channel and noaa lately to see further updates. so far its bad for east coast of DR since its moving WNW now.

Hopefully the mountains in Los Haitisis will bust up the storm. They just paved the roads around Samana. I would hate to see them get torn up. And of course I would hate to see homes flooded.

it will cover most of the whole Island, there will not be much "not bad".
from what i see the eye will be over higuey then samana so thats explains the whiole storm will cover the entire island as well. which means huge flooding everywhere

I will see what it looks like there in a couple days.

Looks like Fiona is making landfall between Boca de Yuma and Cap Cana. NhC predicted path has been wrong and is now further west. How far West it goes is the question. Looks like east coast tourist industry is going to take a knock.

Yes, it is comin for us now on the SE.
Landfall between Cap Cana and Yuma, going over Higuey, then over Miches, then Samana.
This is the first time with full Hurricane Force Winds going over Punta Cana and the whole Province La Altagracia at once.
strongest winds will start to be present here any moment, it is already blowing stronger since 20 minutes and still rising.

She is sliding right along the North Coast, taking her time and snubbing her nose at all of the North Coast folks who always say they never get hit by a storm.

Santo Domingo has only gotten a drizzle of rain through the night, or at least that is what I can report for the Poligono Central.

The drainage in Punta Cana is not what it should be. Hotels will be implementing protocols. Each hotel knows their vulnerability.

I wrote this in a post on the forums in 1998: "Consider yourself privileged if you get caught in a major hurricane while visiting the Caribbean. Your hotel knows what precautions to take, you will witness one of nature's most finest shows. It's like riding a roller coaster. And since you don't have to bother with the clean up, just sit back for a vacation you will never forget."

Still valid today.

"Hit" and "affected" is two different things. Direct hit on PC/CapCana..., fortunately not a "big" storm.

we are in calmer pastures now here, but it is not over for long.
I hear up in Veron the area known as La Gallera/El Samaritano2 lost all non concrete roofing.
Higuey got it's visit, Miches will be next.
During all that time the Storm did continue to grow powers, running 90mphr now and expected to become a Mayor Hurricane once it left our Mainland.
Here at my place we did not receive big stuff of water, we will see what the tail is bringing the next 24hrs.
To me the biggest water loads are in the Eastern Bands of the Storm, we will not get those here in DR, but they are moving over PR and will continue that all day today. I have no radar to see the Southern Quadrants, as those will be the ones for DR to bring rain after the pass, If they contain heavy stuff.
