Millions of scientists, studies and scientific studies are clearly wrong. It's probably all about money, as usual, right? It would be enough for governments to ask you and your opinion, because you certainly have better knowledge on this subject. I'm not going to respond to any more comments about this. I do not intend to moralize or convince anyone.

Thank you, Mike, for updates about weather!

Please guys can we avoid the temptation to turn this thread into a discussion over whether climate change is real or not, there are plenty of other forums in which you can debate that if you want to. Some of us are concerned that a Force 4 hurricane is going to be knocking on our door in a day or two, Mike is our expert, please let's leave this channel clear for him and others who can tell us anything helpful.

Climate Change my Azz, appearance, numbers, powers, time of the year for our Tropical Storms/Hurricanes has zero to do with any climate change.
Hurricane Beryl is a almost perfect built power machine, not missing much to reach the top of the scale for Storm Powers.
Waking over the Winward Islands tomorrow morning will not be a walk in the park for the people there,
as Beryl will be a Cat4 Hurricane with destructive windforces, aside of the usual dangerous storm surge pushed around.
On it's way through the Caribbean Sea there are no indicators of any bad conditions that could knock down such storm,
so we should expect it to be a destructive Mayor Hurricane all the way through until it is past DR and Jamaica.
So far the Atlantic High Pressure Ridges proof stable and protect us from any powers coming from our South to us.
If that stays the same stable for the next 3 days, which i expect, then Beryl will continue to run on its high forward seed of ca 20mphr tomorrow morning over the Windward Islands, a quick in and out, a hit&run, let's hope for the folks there to get lucky and not touch this Eyewall.
By Wednesday morning the Eye will already be passed DR, a quick run without further hits straight into Belize/Mexico, the Yucatan Peninsula.
On Landfall in Mexico it should be awaited to be a Cat1-Cat2 Hurricane.
At this moment I have no idea what amount of storm surge Beryl will push how far Northwards of it's Center towards our DR East and South Shores.
While ya never know what could happen the next moment on such things,
It looks like we will all stay safe from the destructive center forces of Beryl, a quick in and out far south of DR moving E to W on around 20mphr Monday Through Wednesday, then starting to loose some powers little by little on the final 48hrs approaching land.
Expected Impact Time for landfall in Mexico I would set on Friday Noon, but this can vary a lot, depending on how much it slows down on forward speed on the approach.
Here you can watch Beryl via Satellite Live, it is quiet a impressive power machine, missing some powers on it's northern quadrants due the since days present very high wind shear. Without tat wind shear Beryl would have been a max power Cat5 before reaching the Windward Islands and cntinued as a Mayor Hurricane Cat3+ until hitpoint Mexico.

Exactly, climate change and such is not the theme of this Topic, so such posts will be deleted, to stay solely on our stormy times weather observations.

Great then others should quit spreading the myth that these hurricanes are somehow new or somehow so much worse because of recent climate change.
They've been devastating for thousands of years. History records they wiped out sailing Brigantines and Schooners of Pirates and British, Portuguese & Spanish trade ships as early as 500+ years ago.
That's a reason why treasure hunters still search for wrecks.
No one here wants to experience a hurricane. Nor did Dominicans want any of the 140 recorded hurricanes that have landed in DR since 1851.

So far no changes during today, a dangerous Cat4 Storm is approaching the Windward Islands and expected to keep at least Cat3 powers until mid week, while it wanders E-W through the Caribbean Sea, nicely South of DR,
so the worst we should feel in DR are effects of a strong storm surge bouncing our SE and S Coastlines.
As usual some good rain falls would be welcomed by myself here.

Seems like Beryl will slam Barbados and Grenada hardest and of course Barbados is small, low, flat and vulnerable while Grenada has some hills.
What is unusual about this storm is how far South it is. Not many come in that far South.
Hopefully the reports about its weakening pan out.

I see that the Tropical Storm warning is from Palenque west, so doesn't include San Cristobal nor the capital. Let's pray that Beryl's a nice lady and stays nicely south of us.

Ugh, our house is not far from there. I hope they batten down the hatches. And we just put that new outdoor roof over our patio. ☹️

You're right on the edge of the zone though, and from the NHC models I think you'll be very unlikely to get very strong winds, it's showing like a 5% - 10% chance of you having tropical storm force winds, so 90% likely that you won't.

Poor guys in the Grenadines, feeling sorry for them.

No doubt and it's made charlatans like Al Gore so rich he travels the world in a private jet preaching to poor why they should join his cult.

I've been thru a few hurricanes.
Katrina was the most recent. I was there before, during and after the storm staying at 859 Convention Center Blvd in the Marriott Hotel where I was employed when Katrina hit.
Trust me when I tell ya, "climate change" won't the problem. Was more like understaffed correctional facilities having to make some real tough decisions in a very short span of time like...
do we let all of these hardened criminals drown or (knowing there will be no way to control them once released) set them free? When I tell ya shit got hectic real fast, I mean it.

Hurricanes aint the problem, it's what happens afterwards you better come prepared for.

They're doing preventative measures in Santo Domingo taking down big signs and other vulnerable items

Alexa told me it would rain all day yesterday; in reality it was sunny the entire day.

yes it's kind of crazy I really don't pay attention to the weather forecast no more because you can't tell me how the wind's going to blow just my take on it
