A storm is a "It", even that they get their names given by Female and Male names interchanging.
Thanks for the clarification.
It is undeniable though, that people will refer to them (hurricanes) in the gender of their given names.
You did it yourself in your #'s 38 and 39.
Hence the reason that my interest was piqued in the first place.
Not trying to pick a fight or anything but, maybe go a little easier on the rest of us mere mortals.
Happy tracking.
Cheers.

Yeah, it also happens to me sometimes by accident.

San Cristobal has been moderate rain with very little breeze for the last half hour or so.

It now shown as a Cat 5 hurricane with winds of 160mph. Jamaica is in for a rough ride tomorrow. It looks like the south coast will get some really heavy rains and tropical storm winds from this. It's a huge hurricane.

It keeps drifting further North, TS Force Winds for the SW of DR become very likely this evening/tonight.
Jamaica has high probabilities to get a Landfall of Beryl.
It is still running 160mphr wind force and a fast forward ca 20mphr, a relatively quick hit&run, but a tough one.

Hoping the effects of Beryl are minimal to all in the DR. Although not with you in person, we're with you in Spirit.

All calm in Santo Domingo malecon now, just some spits and spots of rain and the wind has dropped. The sea is looking kind of rough. Wondering if that's it or if we will have round 2 (and 3 and 4) later on

It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous!

The forecasters kind of missed it on how strong Beryl would get, but this has been one of the most accurate long term course predictions I've seen.
Accurate predictions of these storms is still a very, very difficult thing. Although the software is very sophisticated, handling thousands of partial differential equations at a clip, it is not enough to guarantee a predictable outcome. The weather doesn't happen in a vacuum.

They are getting better and better. Just wait until we get quantum computers!

The SW of DR should be by now def be prepared for incoming Tropical Storm Force Winds.
Sadly Jamaica will be in it's way.
The close touch to Hispañola will bother the storm more, at the moment it is tending downwards, running 155mphr wind speeds.
Any heavy wave actions to report from the South Shores?
