I thought I knew the answer to this one but apparently not

when there is an orange light with an arrow pointing straight on and you have traffic behind you can you carry on through the light.

apparently the lights in sosua now show red on one side to amet and amber to traffic coming towards sosua therefore anyone going through an amber light will be fined

the nice policeman told me that you have to stop if the light is amber, therefore why put an arrow on it, Im not sure he knew the rules really

Well the real rule is you can continue if your in the intersection when it turns amber. But if you have not reached the intersection then you must be prepared to stop and the light is going red. Now really here nothing applies, Only what the officer wants.

i was at the intersection as it turned amber, the people following me also got fined, now if I had actually stopped I would have been paying for repairs to the cars behind me that would have run into the back of me...so maybe I got off lightly.

Putting a positive spin on it after the event

I suspect they are givena a quota to fulfill each day, as they had disappeared when I came out of playero ...just had enough left to buy the water I originally popped out for on my five minute trip that took about two hours while policeman ate his sandwich

I guess it took him 2 hours to finally realize you weren't going to buy him lunch.

the general rule all over the world is "if the light turns amber, you have to stop, if you can do so safely"

Quite open for discussion everywhere, and certainly here.

I hear your complaint, JR, but find solace in the fact it would have costed you a hell of a lot more in the UK...

btw... what was on his sandwich?

by the way - on my way to get my ticket with amet man sat next to me I pass a car driving on the wrong side of the road, which I pointed out to him (he laughed)

He also told me to do a u turn in the middle of the road, I told him it was an offense and went into playero car park instead
