The Abinader administration is requesting an extension of the National State of Emergency for another 45 days. The present National State of Emergency expires on 16 April. The Chamber of Deputies approved the extension and sent the bill to the Senate.
The declaring of a National State of Emergency allows for the government to carry out expedited purchases and awards flexibility in controls in government.
