Where Are these places on Duarte at? I need to know what the names are. Also La Gran Mansion I thought that was 10 a night not 20. Can someone make updates and correct info on these places?
Cause it seems lot of misinfo here now.

It's a two year old thread, actually you seem to have a propensity to respond to 2006 threads I noticed!

DAKRA,

The Caribe Colonial-Hodelpa allows non-registered visitors in the rooms at no extra fee. However, your visitor must present a valid ID for security purposes. The prices are about $55USD/night. The rooms have air conditioning, cable TV, hot water and a back-up generator in case of a blackout.

HODELPA CARIBE COLONIAL, this Art Deco Style hotel offers finest accommodation in the heart of Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone !

Man their prices must have changed ( a good thing), earlier this year when I stopped by looking for a place for a friend to stay the prices quoted were much more, and they did have an steep price for unregistered guests. I will have to check them out again, for friends now that you have given this information.

Oh!

It's a two year old thread, actually you seem to have a propensity to respond to 2006 threads I noticed!

This is an old thread, may explain the differences in prices, didn't notice that when I responded today, lo siento!

Somewhat surprised that these old threads, with outdated prices are still active, and not closed more often. Don't know why some interesting threads and topics get closed very quickly, yet threads with outdated or obsolete information are allowed to continue forever.

Although in this case it is my own fault, I in seeing new info on the thread didn't bother to look at the dates of the original posting, another lesson learned I guess.

So does anyone have an updated list of even a few budget places to stay at in Santo Domingo? I know that once we get there, we can find the other budget places in DR.

Thanks for the quick reply, so Freeman Hotel is one of the budget places that's still around. What's your new place? $30 a night is fine for the Caribbean!! :)

just for general information.a couple of side streets directly off the duarte do rooms for anywhere from 150rd to 200rd.they are obviously not like the ritz.
but on a tight budget they can get you a comfey bed for the night and are central to just about EVERYTHING!
