ADP accepts deal with Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education and the Dominican Teachers Association (ADP) have reached a landmark agreement, ending a potential strike that threatened to disrupt public school education. The agreement paves the way for the 2025 Teacher Performance Evaluation, which will assess 120,000 public school educators and provide salary incentives to those who meet certain performance benchmarks.

The agreement deal was signed by Minister of Education Angel Hernandez and ADP president Eduardo Hidalgo during a press conference held at the Ministry of Education headquarters. Hernandez will be leaving the Ministry on 26 February, leaving the way for former Minister of Labor Luis Miguel de Camps to take charge for the remainder of the term of President Abinader.

The ADP had sought the pass grade for the tests to be 60 points.
