A celebratory event was held at the Maria Montez Station on 14 August 2024 marking the connecting of the tunnels as a significant milestone for the completion of the Santo Domingo Metro Extension Project to Los Alcarrizos.

The new line covers a stretch of 7.3 kilometers and consists of five stations. The Santo Domingo Metro Extension Project to Los Alcarrizos or Line 2C involves an investment of approximately US$500 million. The project is scheduled to be inaugurated in December 2024.

I read somewhere a couple of days ago that it's 93% finished. Whatever that means.

I was taking trips out that way every few weeks or so to watch the progress until they started working on Km 9.

They've been working on it for well over two years and it's scheduled to be completed in December. Based on that and firsthand observations, I would say it's more than 60% compete.

I'm curious, are you here in the DR to see the actual status? An engineering background? Or is that just an off the cuff estimate?

They have a timeline with completed events to estimate time remaining, and seem to be hitting most of those goals.

I'm not sure of 93%, but I'd agree with a +/- 5% variance.

I was in DR recently for embassy thing for my daughter then I decided and saw the actual construction, its NOT 93%. More likely 60-70%.
