Advertisement urges government employees to defend their jobs

The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Julio Cesar Castaños Guzman, said on Thursday, 25 June 2020 that the electoral body absolutely repudiates any person that threatens or promise jobs, while emphasizing that this action is regulated as a criminal offense in paragraph 19 of Article 284 of Law 15-19 Organic Electoral Regime. He spoke addressing a controversial advertisement published in the classified section of the Listin Diario whereby the Gonzalo Castillo campaign addressed government workers urging these “to vote for him because he was the only one who could guarantee their keeping their jobs.”
