After losing their first two games against the Gigantes del Cibao, the Aguilas Cibaeñas defeated their regional rival six runs to three. The match was the third game of the playoffs. It took place on Wednesday, 14 January 2021 at the Julián Javier Stadium of the Gigantes in San Francisco de Macorís.
Francisco Peña connected a home run with a man on base in the eighth inning to consolidate the win. The Aguilas had been winning the game 4-3. With the victory, the Dominican Professional Winter Baseball Championship 7-4 series is now 2-1 in favor of the Gigantes.
The next game will be on Friday, 15 January 2021 at 7pm at the Cibao Ballpark. The games are being televised and streamed. Fans are not allowed in the stadiums.
