A few minutes ago an airplane crashed near Las Américas International Airport. Supposedly, so far 8 people killed.

The airplane departed from Joaquín Balaguer Airport and was headed to Orlando, Fl. Mechanical issues upon take off prompted to attempt an emergency landing at Las Américas, though it quickly precipitated before it could complete the landing.

All on board died. Those with astericks were not adults. All were US citizens except the crew.

Debbie Von Marie Jiménez García
José Ángel Hernández
Kellyan Hernández Peña
Jayden Hernández*
Yeilianys Melendez Jiménez*
Jesiel Yabdiel Silva*

The crew consisted of the Venezuelan pilot Luis Alberto Eljuri Tancredi, co-pilot Víctor Emiliio Herrera and flight attendant Verónica Estrella.

Very Sad , Condolences to the Families ..
That 2nd video , showing the Jet broken in half on a white Fence line ,,I highly doubt that is the plane, . Does not even remotely resemble the DR .
Its not......good catch. That plane is a Falcon 50.

The plane that crashed at SDQ was a Gulfstream IV.

Condolences to the families of those who perished.

That doesn't look like the DR and that jet is a Falcon Jet, not a Gulfstream IV as reported. Also, from the looks of that plane, almost everyone should have survived that(?).

Something is wrong with that wing. One spoiler deployed? Maybe it's just the angle.

I think that is the flap on the trailing wing edge (spoilers are further ahead on the wing and smaller). Could well be the photo angle, making it look like the other is not deployed.
Probably was up to slow the airspeed, if this photo is prior to the crash -

I am seeing reports that the are blaming the mechanics who worked on the plane and it should not have been allowed to fly.
Anyone confirm that?

Flow La Movie was well-known in the music industry down here. If you've been in a Dominican bar or disco in the last 3 or 4 years chances are you've heard one or more of his songs.
RIP.

Thankfully, I never heard of him or one of his productions until today when I did some research on the so-called music he produced.
I could take about 10 seconds of it.

The type of aircraft is irrelevant ---- it crashed and all died

Sometimes I wonder about the people here....
insinuating the photo is false and not in the DR

It happened folks..... true story
