I think it's the reporting. The plane on the fence was a Falcon 50 and crashed in Sept. of 2018. Still a sad loss of life. Oh, and in Greenville S.C.

Thankfully, I never heard of him or one of his productions until today when I did some research on the so-called music he produced.
I could take about 10 seconds of it.
You may not like his choice of sound but at 38 years old comining from a barrio in Puerto Rico he made millions of dollars producing music for internationally award winning artist while your claim to fame is... you've played a few gigs for drunks at the local tavern.
To each their own buddy.

I think that is the flap on the trailing wing edge (spoilers are further ahead on the wing and smaller). Could well be the photo angle, making it look like the other is not deployed.
Probably was up to slow the airspeed, if this photo is prior to the crash -
It's possible. Hard to imagine how a flap got deflected upwards though.

Right. As if you know anything at all about that. I have played festivals where there were THOUSANDS of people.
But, whatever. What you say is true after I retired to the DR. And what you say is true about the producer from PR.
We can't get into my true thoughts on the subject.

My condolences to his friends and family.

True. But without a better photo it's hard to say what happened.
Don't hear of many Gulfstream planes crashing
If you look at the flight data in the video I posted, the pilot was having trouble maintaining altitude and heading and entered a fairly rapid descent prior to the crash. We'll know more when the nature of the emergency is released.

I don't know much about the flight control architecture of the G4, but initial thoughts are a failed primary flight control system. If that photo is realistic of that right spoiler deflecting upwards that would not be a good thing. I don't know if the G4 has differential flight spoilers or they are just speed brakes. Trailing edge flaps deflecting upwards would not be physically possible, unless a major structural failure occurred and it would have spiralled out of the sky. Nevertheless in flight, symmetry is always your friend. Something looks asymmetric in that photo. Could be a floating spoiler caused by loss of the hydraulic lock and the low pressure on top of wing sucking it up, causing drag on that wing which would lead to an uncontrolled spin.

Anything else on a twin jet aircraft will have secondary backup systems, even if it was electrical, hydraulic, pnuematic or even engine failure, it should be survivable.

Not sure if people have noticed but who is the president of the company but Gonzalo Castillo, the guy who was running for president. I believe I'm right in saying that his name has been mentioned a few times recently in connection with corruption in the last government, and now he pops up as the president of the company which owns and operates private jets. So i am putting two and two together and wondering where the money came from to buy said jets. Things aren't going well for him that's for sure.

We have the report from the pilot's association that the pilots were being made to break rules on rest periods. We have a flight attendant who was on her first day, she's the daughter of someone important in government and obviously got the job due to daddy's connection with Gonzalo Castillo. I suspect she couldn't have done anything to save anyone, but I wonder how much training she had. And I wouldn't be surprised if we get a report of bad maintenance procedures sometime soon, which caused the crash.

It just feels like the same old story doesn't it. Corrupt people helping themselves to taxpayer's money, laundering it on things to contribute to their lavish lifestyle like private jets, fast cars and big houses. Treating their staff like dirt, believing that no rules at all apply to them. Sooner or later it all catches up.

I stress that this is all supposition on my part, but I wouldn't be surprised if I'm right.

Very Sad , Condolences to the Families ..
That 2nd video , showing the Jet broken in half on a white Fence line ,,I highly doubt that is the plane, . Does not even remotely resemble the DR .
Doesn't seem to have burned much either, for all the smoke in the first video.

Well yeah, but you can't say that based on the credibility of whoever created that second video.

The jet in the first photo is definitely not the Gulfstream IV that was reported to have crashed. It's a Falcon Jet - three engines. Gulfstreams have two.
