As my wife says she likes snow only in a movie. While living in Ontario she learn to drive through blizzards and shovel a huge driveway. Where I grew up in Kamloops BC, there was rarely very much snow but often it was colder than a room full of ex-wives. I had to put on a sweater one day last year here in Jarabacoa , when it was 11 degrees C in the morning.

When I first left the northern climes..... late 70's.... to FLA

I missed the season changes and would return to Canada to 'reset my clock'.....

I don't mind the midwest snow or cold because it came in little bits. Rarely more than 2 weeks of it. Just like we prepare for hurricane season, you can prepare for snow outs.

What I hated was driving in the snow or worse yet was ice. I ran off the road 3 times in my life on ice. Never again!

We had a nearly week straight of -40C last winter. There was 2-3 days colder than that with wind chill. We had about 5 ft of snow as well, and I’m not even North of 60.
Thinking about it now, I would take that over +40C and no beach close by any day of the week. Although we haven’t had a day below -10C yet and I’m sure by January I’ll prefer the heat. Especially with no winter DR trip in the cards as of yet.

I had to check out 60 north on a map. Yow! That is up there! 🥶😲

The first photo displayed a fine piece of driving by avoiding the hydro pole while spinning out of control.
