I need to replace the All Terrain tires for my truck. 265/65 R17. In the past I have always ended up buying them from David's in Sosua. Not much choice, although sometimes he has got them from elsewhere, but easy.

Last week David's did not have any so wondering if anyone can suggest somewhere else that may sell decent A/T tyres? North coast or Santiago.

Alternatively, I am wondering about shipping them from the US. I did investigate this a while ago, but it seemed very expensive and more complicated.

Any advice welcome.

Try Price smart in the Capitol. It's a bit of a drive but last time I was there, they had a great selection. It reminded me of Costco in Canada

In Puerto Plata, Torfilco has tires, Also on Avenida Camano just north of Highway 5 is a tire shop where I have bought A/T tires. Good luck!

I always ship my tires in.... better selection & quality, I think.

Shipping is about $30-35/tire..... I buy from Simple Tire or Tire Rack and ship to my mudanza
Free shipping in the USA

It is difficult to determine why 5% of this board experience 95% of life's problems. Torfilco is a reputable shop, a bit pricey yes, but they have honored a warranty for me in the past. Your mileage may vary according to attitude.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I will probably do a tour of Puerto Plata and Santiago to see what is available.
