Okay, probably a dumb question, but can you just bring the fire stick back and forth?
yes but that doesnt help with services like netflix. when you bring it to the DR, it connects to your dominican internet and has a dominican address and the streaming services can see that. if you set up your own vpn, then you are bouncing your streaming traffic off of your home router when you are in the DR. and when you get home you would naturally turn off the vpn connection on the stick because theres no need to bounce off of your home when you are already home.

Ok after doing a little research, it may not be that easy to set up a firestick to connect to your own vpn.. apparently firesticks are not as advanced as other android tv devices and do not include the ability to configure your own connection to your own server.. (They probably would, but amazon takes a lot of android functionality out of a firestick to limit the things people can do with it) so, you would need to subscribe to a pay vpn service and install the vpn app they provide for firesticks. sorry about that.

okay. Am interested. But here in Jamao in the mountains the internet is quite bad and and I doubt is 20 mbps. Our internet is off and on, off and on. Daily, I must link to my phone internet.
How expensive is your internet? Have you thought of using Starlink instead ?

I had a problem with the app last night. I sent GV a message after 10p.m. He replied promptly with some suggestions. This was despite it was his bed time. He gets up at 4 in the morning for work! The suggestions didn't help, but I wasn't going to bother him again. This morning there was a message asking it it worked. I replied no, and he got on it immediately with some other suggestions. It worked! Problem wasn't with the app. I can't tell you how much GV wants to make sure you have a good experience! Great job!!!
