We still beating this horse... when I see amazon trucks driving around than that's when I know they Deliver
The foal was just born, This is a new international delivery using Amazon Global. One person has already confirmed it works.

Like all things it will be great for most and for a few there will be issues getting items dirctly from Amazon to the DR at no delivery charge.
Time will tell.

March 25 11:06pm Package arrives Amazon facility (Ordered the same day)
March 26 5:01am, Leaves facility delivered to carrier in Miami
March 26 2:25pm Package arrives Santo Domingo
March 27 Cleared customs and arrived in Santiago
March 28 8:03am Package leaves Santiago
March 28 11:38am Package delivered to my door Sosua (Not a gated community... In the country. no "address")

I used a plus code (Google maps) for address, and I followed up with location on WhatsApp direct with the driver after entering in DLH website my WhatsApp for delivery assiatance ahead or time.
Bruno was his name that delivered. I tipped him well as I suspect I will be seeing him again soon.
Thanks for this detail. So they are using DHL for delivery to your door. Good to know,
And a very rapid and free delivery, it was.

Thats Great do you sit in the trees with binoculars and know which truck has your package
Gosh, I have no idea how to track my orders on Amazon and see who is delivering (USPS, UPS mostly)...I'm soooo stupid! Come on, maybe just let it go. The horse is alive and well (your post #92)

Some items are available for free delivery to the DR. I wonder what percentage of what they have available is?

If you are an Amazon Prime member and believe what Amazon told me, ALL items that can be shipped to the DR will have free delivery.
Either free up front as you check out without any charge shown, or delivery charges refunded after you receive the item and there was a charge shown at checkout.

Are you a believer?

So, when you order, you need to put in your ID number? There is a pop-up that asks for your ID. (Sorry if someone already answered this).

I believe that but you're limited to all items that can be shipped to the DR. I wonder how limited that is?

Go to Amazon to the my orders page, and next to the item you purchased, there's a link that says "Track package"

Once you select that, you can see the tracking number, and you should see a "See all updates" you can click on for more detailed info.

As far as purchasing goes, I used a different browser to go to the amazon page and it recognized I was in the DR. When I went to search for something, I got a page of items that is very different from the page I usually get.
It looked more like a TEMU or Alibaba page than the page I'm accustomed to.

That is because your IP is in the DR. You will not get anywhere near the selection as if you had used a VPN for a US IP..............And I believe not a lot to choose from to be shipped direct to the DR.............

Amazon won't ship a Fire Stick to the DR. Go figure.

Yep, there are many items they won't send, so the subset is limited but you might find something you want that doe ship directly here.

Well, that depends. MY ISP provides a US IP, but many sites figure out that I am in the DR>

When I change my shipping address to the DR on Amazon, the site still shows me items they won't ship here.

Lots of inconsitencies that must be worked around.

Wen you find it check the price against Ebay or another site. Sometimes "free" is not really free......

I'm not sure it's IP driven. On my chrome browser my Amazon knows I'm in the DR, but my shipping address is in Miami.

I just received a new firestick this week.

But, as I said before, it's a different world when I go to the Amazon web site on Firefox or duckduckgo.
