I once saw an add in the Listín Disrio for converting the Puerto Plata - Navarrete hihway inyo a divided foour lanes highway (two in each direction.)

Did I mention this Listín Diario was from the 1960’s? That’s no typo. And it was an ad from the government!

No surprise.

The Gov wanted since 2019 this project to be fully privately funded (similar as the DR7 Samana Highway).
Instead, Abinader team switched to a APP (public-private alliance) similar as the Punta Bergantin project, no company has showed interest.

In reality, what the Abinader administration has been doing is promises, promises and promises since 2020.
And how they poorly managed infrastructure projects (Cangrejo Bridge, Azua bypass, Ponton bridge, Santiago monorail) makes you think twice if they're really into building stuff.
