Well, AMET are NOT all the same.

Agreed. Two years ago, or so, a moto cut in front of me while I was stopped in traffic on Charles de Gaulle, and took off the front bumper. I held the bike until AMET arrived, and AMET did its job. It immediately ordered a tow truck and confiscated the bike. The moto lacked a cedula, driver's license, insurance, and license plate. We all went to the AMET station, as I needed a police report for the rental car. The guy left without the bike, after I declined to attend a hearing the following day. I did not want the guy's blood, just the police report. Aside from having to pay for a photocopy of the police report, I was satisfied with AMET's response. Moreover, the officer spoke English. Now, I did get a ticket later that day for an illegal left turn in another district, and had to laugh. I chose to take the ticket rather than pay the officer. It would have been less expensive to pay the officer. :squareeye
