Many thanks for both replies. I have previously looked in both of the suggested locations and was unable to find it.
Many have to think about a new eye exam. LOL

Sometimes they are out of stock. Supply chains are not as good here as in some other countries.

Is "Andouille" a type of sausage, or is that the brand name?

I went to the supermarket to check for you, and I found a couple of different brands that looked the same, but neither said Andouille on the label.

Had I been thinking I would have bought one of each to bring home, or at least taken a photo, but noooooooooo..

It's a type of sausage - not a brand. It's a smoked sausage made using pork, originating in France.

OK.
And kind of hard, right? Not as soft as regular salami.

Exactly! I have wanted to make jambalaya for some friends and have never been able to find it. Most likely out of stock when I was hunting for it.
I will be more diligent in my search. Makes all the difference to this dish. I have not been able to find a suitable substitute. Many thanks to all!!

The one I saw was "Don something or other" but it sure looked the same as the link in the OP.

The first time I had it was years ago - there was a woman who used to walk along the beach in Boca Chica selling slices with crackers, and it was really good. Very spicy with a touch of heat.

Found it! Don Pedro Grano de Oro. https://jumbo.com.do/salami-grano-de-oro-don-pedro-0-75--9982003034.html

That JUMBO link can also take you to their other offerings.
