His death is not different to the large number of activists recently getting murdered under Bolsonaro’s regime.

Execution and public. To render others into fear.
Interesting.
Although it sounds like this fella was targeted I seriously doubt the Presidential Administration of Brazil issued the hit.

Um... Do you have any knowledge of all of the persons who were murdered during the Balaguer years?

Not from Balaguer of course, but carried out by orders from his Generals.

Even in this day and age there have been recently committed murders tied to higher ups.

Still that was the 80ies. Bolsonaro now in 2021. I also doubt it could be directly ordered by his government.

Nor did I ever claim to.

Here is an update from the organizer of his Go Fund Me, which has surpassed the goal of $15,000 and is currently at 17, 805. It is linked in the first post of this thread.

This is incredible. Thank you to everyone who made this possible. The outpouring love for Leuvis, is a true testament of the life he lead. Over the last days many of you have had countless things to say about him and this is further evidence that there was no such thing as small talk with Lu, many of you made an impact on his life and vice versa. From family, hometown friends, Boys and Girls Club Inc, Lawrence Community Works, Canal Street Gym, GDA, Trinity, Capoeira, Dominican Republic and what seems like every corner of the planet, Lu was a true man of the people and always made sure to make leave a mark no matter where he was. On behalf of the family, I just want to thank you all a million times over.
In the next days, I will be gathering photos, words, stories to put together for his parents and daughter. If you would like to contribute, please send me a message on Facebook so I can include you.
I will also make an announcement once we have confirmation on his arrival and services. Please stay posted.

I meant to say “We don’t know then” and not them. I mean these ideas the thread throws out there that it could have been linked to criticism of Bolsanero is all just speculation.

This article in Portuguese mentions there was a protest on Sunday Oct 17 regarding his killing. It also mentions that he published 11 books, including one about Marielle Franco. She was gunned down in 2018 by organized crime for her political stance, very similar way as Lu was killed.

Another article about the protest.

Why is it?

Why does it seem that almost every single post involving the death of anyone that gets posted here over the years............turns from condolences to rank speculation on the who, what, when, where, why and how.

Posts like these should be just that..............condolences or positive personal memories..........no political or whodunnit battles should be waged here or in any notice post such as this one.

Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

Respectfully,

And it was in Brazil which most of us know nothing about. And he has been there over 10 years.
