Also why not take the claro movil as a backup instead? lets say Altice is down, dont you prefer your internet backup to be from another company?

Assuming that if they are down,.. there entire service is down?

Except check my bills.
But all the otions dont work. I click and nothing happens.
Anybody have the same problem ?

To be down completely would mean all Altice down, even cell phone service. Should be rare. The mobile one works with 4G like cellphones so i guess the risk is slim.

In case I still have the Claro iphone. I could use the personal hotspot feature.

Another reason I choose the mobile from Altice is because it is unlimited, not capped like the Claro ones.

Check to make sure that your browser is able to support and execute java scripts and flash content (neither of which is very secure). It's also possible that you may be using a plugin that is blocking the site functionality by preventing cookies, referrers etc.

In these cases, I usually load up a plain unaltered/non-configured copy of internet explorer (not edge) which I don't use at any other times. If that works, then I know the issue is with my primary browser - and that's a good thing as I know it is configured to act that way for a reason.

Website construction and functionality can be terrible and many years behind the times and current best practices. Sometimes stripping away all of the things we do to keep us secure and our info private lets a site function.

I actually did something similar.
But it seems to be the website itself. Want to change your plan, it takes you to a page where it asks for name, address, emai, etc....... want to upgrade, same thing.
I thought it would be a " normal" website/ app, like click on the option you want to change to and so on......silly me :(

This is interesting, so Altice have no cap at all, or no slow down after certain GB on their "Illimitado Internet Movil" plans... !?

I will be interested in this, but I need it for a few months and then switch off for a few months while away, and back on again... I wonder if they accept suspending or cancel and restart etc... !?

They have a correct use policy on unlimited internet, if you abuse they will cap or downgrade your service, thats in general. Claro and Altice downgrade to 256 kbps, VIVA 512 kbps. If you have a contract for a service by speed then not limit on downloads.

About the contracts will depends on what kind of contract do you have, for example if you have a normal plan and signed for 18 moths contract before those 18 months you can not cancell without penalities, after 18 months you can cancell and have the option to change your number to prepaid and the added credit will last long up to 90 days.

If you have a plan with not contract you can cancell any time without penalities.

Being prepaid if you do not add more credit berore 90 days then you will loose your money and the line will be suspended untill you add credit.

If you add the credit before 90 days you will recover the balance in the line and will be added the new credit you top.

This is in VIVA, and I can tell that the other day I forgot to add credit before expiration date of the service to a line with 1,800.00 pesos in credit, I went to add 300.00 pesos, as was during the period before the 90 days the line was activated with 2,100.00 pesos in Credit, the 1,800.00 from before and the 300.00 new added. Some members here said that Altice is not implementing that rule by law. so better ask everything before. That must be applied the same in all companies.

Altice has unlimited mobile internet on their mobile plans (different from internet plans) but they differentiate it by 3 speeds, SD plan which has about 2 Mbps, HD which has about 5 Mbps and UHD which has about 8 to 10 Mbps . You can run unlimited like doing tens of GB if you wish. But the plans combined with minutes are very expensive, for what they charge for 100 minute plan with unlimited internet I get 21 Gab internet in Claro and 1000 minutes off net plus unlimited Claro calling. In today's time of fiber optics internet common anyplace and plenty of wifi everywhere, I have not used over 3 GB out of my 21 GB plan in 17 months that I am with Claro.

Claro Post Paid plan also has FREE calling to all Claro phones. No minutes ever come off your total. And they roll over minutes and Internet use to the next month up to a certain amount. It is impossible for me to ever use all this. And the price is right.

Not to mention free roaming in North America and Latin America.

Best plans now are in Claro and VIVA, Altice plans sucks and are the most expensive.

Agree and Altice internet does not work, Claro does.
But if you think Claro roaming in the states works - nope, not in Florida that I found, and just returned and will say it's useless

I have used Claro roaming in Florida several times. It worked perfectly for me each time. But you need to go into your settings and make the right adjustments to make it work.

One thing you need to be aware of is the person calling you from the DR needs to put a 1 ahead of the area code. Example 1 809 .

First make sure that Roaming service is activated calling Claro and for Data services you must turn on Data Roaming option if you have an Iphone or Itinerance option on in other phones.
