I don't know because I have never stayed there. But each hotel has its policy on the website. Sometimes they charge a fee for you to have a local guest. Read the website policy. It is there. However, don't think that if you book a double room you can have a different guest whenever you want. All guests must be registered. Dominicans carry a cedula.

Have you travelled internationally before? May I ask your general age? What about budget and length of visit?

If you want us style luxury the Sheraton and crowne plaza fit the bill. They won't bat an eyelash about two guys sharing a room. But they also know what's up.

It may also be of interest to you that you will find many other African American travelers. And, for some reason many of the gay guys are African American. To me it is a striking proportion.
Never traveled internationally outside of Mexico (it's right next to San Diego)
My age mid 20's but well educated African-American with a MA
Budget I plan on spending at least $700 US max(not including hotel) since I won't be there too long
I plan on staying for 3 nights

Duque de Wellington on Independencia. Walk out hotel and wave your hand for a beat up public taxi. Taxi will circle around a small park. keep eyes open, because there is a restaurant on the corner you want to walk back to. Restaurant is Pacos but several years ago renamed Grands. Get a table, buy a beer and very soon you will find the peeps you are in search of, and quite a few will speak English.

Taxi 25 pesos, change your money to pesos, credits cards many, many places do not accept. ATM machine is good to go but bring two debit cards and cash to play it safe.

Duque de Wellington has some regulars and across the street is a colmado (bodego) the gay crowd visit quite frequently. Matter of fact the chubby dude working behind the counter I ain't too sure of.

Just my two pesos, you don't have to be gay in SD to know where the gay scene is. It ain't my thang but to each his own.

I am an old timer and some of my best laughs came from the old show In Living Color.

Not meant to be derogatory but I always respected people who do what makes them happy.

Post up or PM me arrival dates and more than likely I will be in town. In an hour or two I can introduce you to some peeps who will "keep an eye on you" cause they know you know me. It makes a big difference here in la rep dom.

Enjoy your trip............

No you do not, but this is a newbie poster and if you can't offer help why chase the OP away with useless posting.

Maybe I am old and set in my ways but if you can't help than say nothing at all...........

Yes donP, you must. Mama is watching you with a wooden spoon in her hand. Behave.

So, dear Mama, you are saying that disagreeing with someone means to keep one's mouth shut here?

I have stayed at Casa Sanchez several times now and have seen gay couples there once or twice.

I find it an exceptionally lovely place to stay and the staff are very professional and attentive. It is certainly better than any other hotel that I have stayed in in the Colonial Zone and is very quiet, peaceful and relaxing.

Forgive my ignorance. What exactly qualifies a hotel as "gay friendly". I would assume hotels welcome all guests? Or am I being naive?

I think the Op had a valid question because most hotel allow male guests to bring in female guests or vise versa but few allow freaks to walk in as guests.

after seeing CC in person, I think I prefer a camel. CC is the sole reason why so many women have turned lesbian.
if your son refuses to study in school, show him his future by showing him a picture of CC. Hahahaha
if your dominican daughter refuses to go to university, show her, her future by showing her a picture of a girlfriend of CC (with CC). Hahahaha.
I bet both of these kids will become PHD in no time.

sky was right, so many people are hinting to walk out of the closet, except CC, stuck inside, too fat to squeeze out.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEM MUSLIM WOMEN ???????????????????
Then you know why he prefers CAMELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Yes I have but surely there must be some kind of beauty underneath all them clothes. I can't even see the color of their eyes let alone anything else. I think you will agree them Muslim ladies sure have to be better than riding to the desert with a ladder to mount a camel or searching nearby for a goat to, well do the do. And pee brain AZB talks about freaks...........

Welcome OP, search the posts for good info and ignore the rest.
