Any possibilities to hire an attorney who would directly deal with & request an expediente from a non responsive attorney to obtain a property title?

Family member is having serious issue obtaining a property title due to her attorney not being responsible and at this point ghosting her. She purchased a property 3 yrs ago & it’s been payed off 2 yrs ago. She has all the documents (copies). Her attorney is not answering her msgs not calls. She’s reached out to 3 attorneys for help but each single individual told her she needs to hand deliver the expediente. She’s made those attempts but tis been excuses after excuses from the attorney. She has all of the attorneys info. Does anyone in this sub have any attorney recommendations who would assist and deal with the non responsive attorney directly and gain all the original docs and take over the title process?

That's a tough one. You're basically going to have to retain a new lawyer to finish getting the title work done.

Attempting to help family member. I myself reached out to 3 attorneys and none are willing to help unless the expediente (original docs) are given to them by the prospective client. In this case specifically my family member. Apparently attorneys on DR can’t reach out to one another on behalf of a client to request for docs & disclose new representation? Damn attorney who has the docs isn’t not answering calls or msgs. That’s the problem

Was told by 2 out of 3 attorneys they need to follow certain codes of ethics? And the client needs to provide the expediente it can’t be requested from attorney to attorney?

Not sure exactly what "reaching out" and "helping" means exactly but a friend of mine in the same situation had to employ another lawyer. Once employed and retained for services, the lawyer was able to get all the original docs.

Meant spoke with (reached out) and discussed the matter with 3 attorneys & none were willing to help without docs in hand. Thank you really appreciated! apparently I’ve been reaching out to the wrong attorneys. If possible would you be able to inquire and provide that attorneys contact info? The property in question is located in Santo Domingo. Thanks again!

Guzman Ariza is the law firm for DR1. They have an office in SD. The first consultation is free. Give them a call.
