Hi everybody,

Is anyone familiar with Seawinds and Beach Palace condos in Cabarete. I have narrowed down my selections to these two units and wonder if anyone can give an opinion. They both have great oceanfront balconies and are both virtually the same price. I am most interested in having very nice oceanfront views and being able to walk to restaurants and grocery stores.

Thanks very much.

There is also one other option Maybe 4 you

Morning Breeze is a new project beside Beach palace just completed . I HAVE NO IDEA. The difference in price ,I don't think the balconies are as large though but if I was looking I would also check this project out too .( I have no interest in property ) lol Seawinds hm which one is this and where ? I should know but have brain fade at the moment .if its on kite beach you want palace if the priority is ease of shopping and restaurants !

Isn't Seawinds the new place on Punta Goleta? If so, didn't we read a couple of months back about some attacks and robberies on that beach?

I agree about the convenience of location of Beach Palace. Don't know Morning Breeze, but if it is next door, that too, would also be convenient. The only complaint I heard was from long term renters who tired of being right in the center of the action and driving through Cabarete.

Heres what I see , my opinion only , live in cab for 8 years

:bored::bored:Okay I woke up BEACH PALACE IS CLOSER TO WATER SO up close and personal for ocean view and so more convenient if you don't want to use a car and are interested in renting it . however nothing shabby about Seawinds has nice property in fron so you have some Realestate in front of you NIL IN PALACE .Most who do not kite complain of distance to town and danger of roads due to cars and motorcycles flying down the road . if you are cooking reg the walk along the beach is atad long with groceries if u are not in good shape . Use taxi or guaga BIG + For palace walking to everything easy , no vehicle needed , closer to ocean so your kissing the ocean ..... Seawinds a little more private and as I said you have nice grounds in front with lovely pool

I guess I really need to know if Seawinds is walking distance to the bars and restaurants in Cabarete. I know that Beach Palace is really close to all the restaurants and bars.

Seawinds (Punta Goleta beach side) is within walking distance from bars and restaurants in the center of town but a long walk (about 15 minutes) and one you don't want to make on the beach after dusk.

Beach Palace is about a 5-minute walk at most (I walk slowly).

The ocean by Seawinds is rough compared to the Beach Palace. I believe Seawinds has a pool; Beach Palace does not. If I had to choose, I would go for the Beach Palace -- very close to town and I heard from people who stayed there, that construction quality is very upscale (excellent double windows that won't allow any noise through--quite important if you're close to the beach bars).

Are you talking about buying or renting? The "lifestyle" at these two places are completely different. Seawinds is walkable to the bars and restaurants in the center of Cabarete, but not something you'd probably want to do often...or at night. It's very walkable to the bars and restaurants of Kite Beach, but there's no night-life there.

Thanks to everyone for their help. I have decided to book the Beach Palace due to it's close location to bars, restaurants, and Janet's Supermercado.

Thanks everybody.

That would be my choice as well. i have friends who frequently rent there and visit them when they are in town and the 3 bedroom condos there are fabulous! the nicest i've seen in Cabarete, other tha Millenium. The underground garage is also nice if you have a car and don't want it parked in the sun all day. and as you said, it's within walking distance to everything.

You couldn't give me a condo in Beach Palace. Go to Seawinds.

1. It's newer
2. I has a swimming pool
3. It has a single owner (BP has two who are constantly fighting)
4. It will have/has better management
5. The condos are much superior to BP in almost every way
6. You are walking distance to "bar central" on the beach yet you needn't hear it all night long
7. ...I am getting tired of stating obvious differences...but you get my point.

I live here in Cabarete and I would choose the above message because it is only a Few min walk to the centre of restaurants and bars, it has aNice pool and grounds ,the palace already looks tardy on the outside, and having no pool or Realestate ie grass longing area sucks !!!

Seawinds in "Not" within walking distance of Janet's supermarket...certainly not with hands full of groceries. Get that thought out of your head right away before it infects the soles of your feet, your health, and your reasoning ability.

Unless your're only walking to Janet's for a candy bar, i wouldn't recommend trying to carry groceries all the way back to Seawinds from Janet's supermarket. And this is coming from a guy who frequently bicycles back and forth from Cabarete to Sosua with a pair of heart defibulators in my backpack.

Listen people, get real! Yes, Seawinds is nice, very nice, but it's not within walking distance of Janet's...not remotely...not kind of...not sort of...nor would it be safe to walk at night. This would be paramount to insanity to try and walk this after 10pm at night, alone.

Other than Beach Palace or Millenium or Ocean Dream or Ocean One, i would only recommend the condos across from Cabarete Casino--"Playa Ventosa"---these are beautiful, large, and within a stones throw of Janet's supermarket.

This is where i plan on living when i get back from Norway in October. Maybe we can be neighbors and share sugar and coffee...maybe even wife swap?

Yes, good point Olly, but my understanding was that the OP is not purchasing a condo, just simply renting. If this is the case, it doesnt matter, plus, i really want to meet his girlfriend or wife and see if there are any sugar trading possibilities.

ALL OF THE HAVE EROSION PROBLEMS ,EXCEPT ocean one , ocean dream ,and Millenium , yes walking with gross from Janet's is a hassle but really a guaga is available 4 cheap transportation and taxi once a week Would do it for major shop. Playa Ventosa is the best in my mind ! Nice project well done ,waliking to bars and Janet's in a few minutes beautiful ocean views ,nice grounds you can walk around ,really nice Pool It's # 1 , plenty of parking . It's a lay down ,you have the best of both worlds
