"Good air" in Argentina. PMSL. Give them a year and they'll be out of Santo Domingo.
They are out of SDQ and was not because they had low load factor, one thing for sure its that Copa and Avianca are very graceful to Arajet to move GRU, EZE, YYZ, YUL, UIO, GYE, SCL out from Santo Domingo. They are welcoming Dominicans and tourist traveling in/out those route from SDQ. My personal opinion its they made very bad decision not keeping at least 2 flights a week as they did with LIM that have service 2 times a week from Santo Domingo too.

SDQ is being badly managed by Vinci. That is the main reason Arajet moved their hub to better managed AIPC. If SDQ would had been better managed, Arajet would still have it as its main hub since that was the plan from the start. If it wasn’t for AIPC, Arajet was going to move to another Latin American country with a better managed airport. They have a plan to make serious money in the long term and they will not let it go bankrupt because of the mismanagement of some airport.

I hear SDQ had another power outage affecting flights AGAIN? Why is it that’s the only Dominican airport that suffers that with excellent weather?

I bet even soon Cibao International is going to be better than SDQ. Blame Vinci for that too.

You may be an expert on airport codes, but they mean nothing to me, so unless most people are more informed about them than I am, not much point in writing them.

GRU - São Paulo, Brazil (Gorulos or something like that.)

EZE - Ezeiza (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

YYZ - Toronto, Canada

YUL, UIO - no idea

GYE - maybe Guayaquil, Ecuador

SCL - Santiago, Chile

The official airport tracking codes are a bit different. Sao Paulo for example is SBGR, Toronto is CYYZ. For the DR, SDQ is MDSD, STI is MDST and PUJ is MDPC. The US airports (most) have a K in front of their airport code.

Arajet stop flying to Medellín, Colombia from Santiago.

I think the only flights that have a chance to stick are the future ones to NYC. Not just Arajet, the other 2 Dominican airlines Skyhigh and Air Century should be flying that route too. It’s kind of ridiculous to arrive at any Dominican airport and despite there are a few national airlines, most or all the airplanes seen have a non-Dominican flag in the back and an airplane code that doesn’t start with HI.

Arajet will start flying to NYC on April 16, 2025 (SDQ - JFK). This will inaugurate Arajet flying to the USA.

Other flights that will start in the second quarter of 2025 are:
SDQ - MIA (Miami)
SDQ - MCO (Orlando)
PUJ - SJU (San Juan)

They want to strengthen these flights before they start STI - JFK.

When they start selling tickets, I was told special pricing will be $25 to celebrate 2025 launch. I'll purchase it in heartbeat
There was another airline, Spirit maybe, that would advertise really low fares, specials. But when you added the taxes and other fees it really wasn't that special in the end. And they only had a limited number of seats available at that "special low price. Let's see what Arajet does.
