I just wonder if anyone owns / rides ATVs in Santiago. I'd like to team up with few other guys/gals who likes to ride. There are some beautiful landscape around Santiago and I'd like to know more trails and more people in the ATV community.

Z, check out the Texaco across from Bellon on Saturday mornings. I've seen dozens of ATV's and dirt bikes, riders all geared up, meeting there for a group ride into the campo...

Yes there are lot of beatiful landscape... Next time try going to "Pico Diego de Ocampo" not to far from the city but the vew from there is something you won't forget.
You can try also going to Moncion thru Janico, Sajoma, El Rubio, La celistina and make a stop when you get to La Presa de Moncion. If you prefer instead of driving thru Moncion City you can keep your off road trial going down the hill and hitting Mao croosing the Mao river and returning to Santiago taking the road that goes through Amina.
Make a stop and take a swimming at "Balneario Amina"

Enduro this is how we call this hobbies in DR, My favorite back in the 80s.
Si no encuentras otro ATV driver que te acompane monta una rubia contigo y date un chapuson el balneario de Amina y par de cervezas bien frias...
Eso es lo que yo llamo darce vida.

Bachata,

I completely agree with you. Most people doesn't even know how beautiful is the landscape around Santiago and perhaps many other inland area.
I truly enjoy the mountains. I wish I'd know the area as good as you know it.
Well, this is one reason for me to try to hook up with others with ATV.
So when are you gonna leave NC for a while and come down here to show us around?

Yes, I'm still working in my Dakota truck, the engine is fine but the clutch system is my head each right now as I broke the the slave cylinder by accident trying to untie one of the bolts that hold the transmission I didn't know this thing was plastic, first time I see this in my life and the worse is that after I reinstalled the new one I'm having a lot of issues trying to get this working as there is lot of air trapped in the system and it doesn't has a bleeding nipple to purge it.
Man, I have been braking my brains, I've been trying different methods that I find online but no one works.
I found this one today let's see if tomorrow I can get it running...
Check the link below.
Clutch slave cylinder
Chrysler dealer says that this is not serviceable part that you have to buy the whole system....
American cars are kind of complicated but I'll learn how to fix it few by few.

That is not true! You can buy the save cylinder by itself. Check it out at CarQuest or Advance Auto.
Is yours the 3.9l V-6?
It has a quick connector - as you can see it in the pictures. Sometimes they are not easy to bleed, helps if you have a vacuum bleeder. The price is somewhere between $30-50.

I did bleed this thing today and I'm still having issues!!! I think I'll have to go back to the junk yard and pull the slave cylinder from the same vehicle I got the engine as it it an older model and I noticed that part was longer than the one in my truck. I'm starting to have a different diagnosis and is that the slave push rod must be longer as the flying wheel is farther from the tranny in this case.
Let me tell you that I had some issues to align the crankshaft pulley with the others engine's pulleys...
I'll figured out what to do as I did in DR adapting all kind of parts from different cars.

Ex. the aircompressor for my Kia minivan was worthy for RD $ 28,000. I installed a Toyota Sienna on it. Pay RD 1,800. a used one.
The AC evaporator was worthy for RD. $14,000. I installed a Toyota on it. Pay only RD. $ 1,200.
There is a guy across the street from Partido Reformista in Santiago at Calle Espana his name is Fausto if you need to do any kind of adaptation he is an expert swichting conector from one part the other and he does all king of welding. And at Pueblo Nuevo there's a guy who is an expert working on air compressor, Alternator, power steering pump mounting brackets. I mean he can install an air compressor in a different bracket so that the pulleys align with the other device pulley same as the original.

Hey Hunt, finally my truck is ready. The clutch system gave me a hard time but I found the way to bleed it, let me tell you that most the mechanics here in US say that it is impossible to do it as it come pressurized with not bleeding device.
As good Dominican I'm I did it...

I'm going to keep this truck and will sell the gray Neon, a pick up truck is a good vehicle for a future business.
If sell this truck it would be profitable as my investment was only $ 1,260.00 bucks. I would like to have it shipped to DR as over there it is worthy for $ 10,000. Dollars.

Luis check this video, there is where I go for parts.

There's a group of Santiago ATV riders, who ride all the way to Sosua and especially thru the tough El Choco road off of the Moca route. One of them have a auto shop on Barto(sp?) Colon, on the right side and right before you get on the touristica highway towards montellano(north coast). I used to love 4wheeling in the DR, there are so many off-road routes to choose from, literally hours and hours of fun!
