The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) revoked the permit that the previous administration had issued for the construction of the Bavaro International Airport. The airport would go up in northern Punta Cana, but would be just 18 km from the Punta Cana International Airport.

The IDAC said there had been irregularities in issuing the permit and left open doors for the promoters to resubmit the project.

One of the best decisions from IDAC. Another airport in Punta Cana is ridiculous at best. The planned terminal had a nice design though. Maybe it could be built as a second terminal building in Las Américas, perhaps somewhat smaller than planned for Punta Cana.

What NALs said.

Plus, a rail link from PUJ that links all the resorts up to Miches would make an excellent alternative.

Maybe they should just relax and get tourism back before they do anything. I assume busses picking up the tourists at Punta Cana airport is fine for now.
