Eye Colour

I guess I will have to look a little closer at the eye colour variation. I have spent enough time in the DR to have noticed the locals eye colour and although there are a few that surprise you with a yellow or green tinge, I would say at least 85% are brown.:ermm:
Not that it's a bad thing. Some very appealing 'brown' eyes, indeed!

Talldrink, they are in the greenish family... very nice I may add.

Berzin, sometimes its not the color that is important but the life one can see in peoples eyes. I have met people with the most amazing color yet they have no life behind their eyes therefore they are not all that. On the other hand, some people with normal run of the mill eye color can astound you and take your breath away. My opinion... it is the life you can see in ones eyes that makes them special, especially if accompany by a radiant smile.

Berzin, are you upset that your eyes are just plain brown baby? you are special nonetheless... no worries. LOL

AHAHAHAHA!!!:cheeky:

Yes, greenish, and they change colors, too depending on what color shirt I wear or what color my chicas contacts happen to be as I stare into her eyes...:cheeky:

that's usually a sign of gall bladder or liver disease...not trying to be funny, i'm serious...

This is true if your talking about the whites of the eyes, not the pupil.

Berzin - I need to see what they are talking about!

Yellow eyes are not natural at all! Does he look like a cat?

The mixture of races going on in The DR is incredible.

I probably belong to one of the most mixed families in the world....which is wonderful. I think we have any conceivable shade and eye colors I can think of. In my immediate family we have people whom you'd think were born in Norway and others whom you'd think were born in Haiti...yet they are first or second cousins, sometimes even brothers from the same mother. Amazing how genetics work. We have white people with nappy hair, black people with straight "good" hair, blacks with green or blue eyes, etc...My own oldest son being a product of myself and my wife (who's of Swedish descent) turned out to be a beautiful mix (not to brag). He has the Latin somewhat olive skin, darker hair with a natural blonde patch (from his mother) on the right front side of his head and green eyes. Some people think he dyes his hair...

I myself turned out to be "blanco", but with nappy hair (from my grandma), and green eyes (from my dad). I do have to say thanks to my dad for the green eyes...That alone has probably gotten me more complements and "friends" than anything I can think of.

Hey...I used to have a pic in the members galleries pictures section (the one before this new gallery) until DR1 erased them...I'm ok with it as posting pics in a public website can come back to haunt you...

My ex wife is half domincan and half irish. Pale blue eyes skin like porcelin and jet black hair. Her mother had brown eyes and was a tad bit darker, my ex's sister tight curly blonde hair and green eyes. I think the DR is the bermuda triangle of gene pools. Can't wait to see for myself in November!

Hilarious!!!:cheeky::cheeky::cheeky:

But from reading some of these posts I'm sure someone will come out and say that zebra-striped eyes are part of the dominican eye-color palette.:ermm:

I went on a dominican dating/marriage site and they had chicas from all over the island, and I mean all over.

I won't post the site because it will probably get my whole post deleted, but it proves my point. Out of all the chicas, maybe one or two with eyes that weren't some shade of normal, everyday brown. Nothing special.

Sorry boys and girls. This case is closed as far as I'm concerned.

It depends on how closely you looked. Some can fool you if you don't look really hard. But they can't get by me, dammit...;)
