This is just a warning. I am a professional diver who dove recently with the DRessel Divers club in the Iberostar Bavaro resort, Puntacana. For those of you who are interested in trying DIVING FOR THE FIRST TIME or certified divers looking to dive in the dominican republic DO NOT go to this club. They have a number one priority of MONEY and NOT safety. It is run by a group of clowns who have no idea of customer service or safety standards. Certified divers are better off doing any diving in Bayahibe anyway.

We will be going to Punta Cana in March to the Iberostar Bavaro and will want to do some diving. Where is Bayahibe? How was the diving at that location? Who else could we contact in Punta Cana for diving? Thank you.

Re: Fishing

Your best bet is not to book any fishing trips in purta plata.Rent a car for the day and travel down to the GRI-GRI lagoon and bargin with the capt. of several boats they have docked there.Never take thier first price, just tell them thats alittle too much and you'll get back to them.Do this 2 or 3 times untill you get what you think is a fare price. Also remember don't try to cheat these men they have family to feed also.Let them know the better time you have the better the tip will be.While your there take one of the boat rides through the lagoon and out to check the caves and coral, also your not far from playa grande which is an excellant beach so make a day of it enjoy and set what day you would like to go fishing.Any more questions feel free to write.
