As for governments rolling out their digital currencies, it is good news for Bitcoin .

Probably bad news for stable coins ( cryptos pegged to a currency, like USDC, dai or tether who are worth 1$ ), as government backed digital currencies will probably replace them.

Good news for the oracles, smart contracts , defi, orientated cryptocurrencies, as the whole space could go mainstream.
That's my problem with Bitcoin and always has been. It's backed and guaranteed by nothing. I understand its advantages, but it still seems like blue sky. Especially after the CBOE discontinued futures trade in bitcoin. What I was wondering and still am is if govt. regulations come into crypto markets, will bitcoin be affected or even possibly wiped out because it's not backed by any tangible asset.

I found Nals posts of all of the bitcoin exchanges interesting. I was unaware there were so many in so many different countries.. That says something for bitcoin and its popularity for use. I guess if there are enough people using it as an alternative type of currency, it may flourish as Governments continue to move forward with cashless societies. I believe the DR would have extreme difficulties as will other free countries introducing a digital currency that will be accepted by its people, but who knows.. My crystal ball quit working decades ago..

Valid point.
Being your " own bank" comes with risk, if you lose your seed phrase, send crypto to a wrong address,etc..... there is no recourse and your funds are lost forever.
i wish you nothing but the best.... hope you make millions... i'll stick with the stock market......the market let me retire early and become a cigar smoking fat basta^^....enjoying the beach views in punta cana...

Do you have any insight as to Bitcoins future should world governments roll out their own digital currencies and regulation comes into play? (China, US and UK are working on one) You seem to be up to date on Bitcoin, and I'm interested in your opinion.
Quantum computing = bye bye secure block chain transactions.
Some say 10 years, some say 20.
1 bitcoin currently = $18,218.64

Maybe, maybe not.

Quantum-proof cryptology algorithms already exist.

Google in 2019 built the first quantum computer, allegedly.
It has " only" 53 cubits of " power".
1000 to 2000 cubits are needed to crack todays cryptology algorithms, like ECDSA.

For those that questions that Bitcoins will never become legal tender, here is an article published yesterday.

Written by the Worlds biggest crypto fund manager. Yep. No bias there.

Nice head fake.

But anyone who bought Bitcoin in 2019 for 19,000.......................is now 6,000 to the red;

Keep repeating it is NOT a currency............and if you wish to call it one.................it is a very unstable one.

Respectfully,

That didn't age very well 😂😂😂.

Unless you bought today, 100% of BTC wallets are in the green 💚💚💚 23.5k$ per BTC at the time of this post.

To the moon 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀 baby !!!

Disclaimer : it could-- and probably will-- correct hard.

My prior observation still stands;

Keep repeating it is NOT a currency............and if you wish to call it one.................it is a very unstable one.

It might be a payment platform and it might be a commodity play................but by your own observation.............it probably will correct hard...............very few people believe it has value as a currency.

I hesitate to even refer to it as an investment...................but people also believed Tulips were an investment.

Any of you following the short squeeze on GME ?

Most brokers have stopped trades on GME today....and BB and AMC and NOK....... But only for retail..... hedge funds still can.
Socialism for the rich at its best.

That's why Bitcoin, cryptocurrency in general and DEX's ( decentralised exchanges) are the future.
Men-in-suits can't stop us from trading, using, accessing our funds when everything is decentralised.

I hope Citadel, Citron and co. lose their shirts.
HOLD THE LINE, 💎💎💎💎 hands.

I think Melvin Capital lost three billion in shorts this week. Much more is on the line in the next week.

Sorry guys, posts about Bitcoin need to have some Dominican reference.

Ok, sorry.

Blockchain and decentralised finance are powerful tools that can/could enable mere mortals to access broader financial markets.

Finding a broker must be really hard for the "normal" dominican. Bitcoin/crypto can be The Way, imo.

Imagine dominicans having access to high yield crypto saving accounts and crypto collateralised loans at a few % yearly. Loan sharks/preastamos (?) would disappear overnight lol.
