Boca Chica.. my favorite hang outs were La Cueva and Route 66. Yes Route 66 (not Route 69) when the red petrol pump was still in front and Duarte was a still a dirt road.

I still have a Route 66 sticker here somewhere from when they first opened.

Ronnie! But IIRC he died here in the DR. Memory is a little faded on that one. I can't remember the ex navy chief's name either.

Development where, in Boca Chica? The whole place looks like after a nuclear war, everything is abandoned, rotten and falling apart. 20 years ago it was a funky place, very alive, you could walk the main street and see how black American midget is picking up a one legged 8 months pregnant prostitute, and things like that. Now it's totally dead and abandoned, what development? Two new condo buildings during 20 years and a third one still unfinished?
Glenn, or whatever your name is, this is hilarious. And on point.

I just got back from the DR and spent 1 night in BC before my flight home as usual. It actually seemed a bit cleaner than last year when I was there. One thing I noticed is the perceived explosion of Italians there now, seemed like they were everywhere. Like a DR version of little Italy. not sure how long I could stay there but I have always enjoyed one or two days of people watching on Duarte. And yes, power was out for about 1/3 of my time there.

I found the perfect antidote to seething about EDEEstupido in the house. Take a 12 y/o to the beach and have sea weed fights. Works like a charm!

From what I was told, we got it back shortly after 12, kept it for close to 2 hours (which is par for EDEEstupido) and got it again an hour ago or so. The good news is the batteries are charged and the food in the fridge is cold.

The better news would be if you moved to that neighborhood over by your gym where I met you last month. 😀

Going on 2.5 hours no juice from EDEEstupido. The worse news is that my car is trapped inside our gate. This is kinda on me because I should have asked for a mechanical key to unlock it a long time ago. Given EDEEstupido's lousy track record, this was really kind of inevitable.

I have written to them but of course they're way too stupid to respond. What a piece of shit company.

So we finally found a mechanical key to open the gate. I left, went to Bravo and PriceSmart, had lunch out and returned. By the time I returned, we had got electric back and lost it another 2 times. Notices or answers from EDEEstupido? Of course not, quit being silly.

As an aside, on the way back there is a backup of about 1 - 2 miles on the west bound autopista de Las Americas, on the east side of the toll station. It appears a semi lost his axle and he's blocking 1 of 2 lanes. But of course it's not his fault.

This has me very confused.

Last night at 1130 the transformer that's 10 meters from my bedroom window exploded. Within a few minutes I went out to check and there was a EDEEstupido truck there with 2 alleged techs. They said something to me but I didn't understand it. Naturally we lost luz.

However, with 5 minutes we got our luz back. I can't understand how but we got it. The transformer was on fire and in fact the fire lasted until 6AMish. Now at 1130 AM, it's still smoking. Additionally, we have lost luz within the last half hour or so, but we had it for close to 12 hours. Not sure if they're related. And naturally, no one has come to replace the transformer and there is nothing on their website or instagram account.

They continue to reach new heights for stupidity and incompetence.

You might not be serviced by that transformer. But the fact that a service truck was there so fast sounds Iike the techs caused the overload which blew the transformer.
Which EDE is most incompetent.
Sounds like is a contest between Edenorte and EdeSur.
A DR North vs South Civil War of morons
