it says North and South Americas will be able to see the entire eclipse.

From the looks of the map, Sosua and Puerto Plata may be on the fringe of the best viewing area.

The sky was eerily bright last night here on the south coast at the beach. Not a cloud in the sky, and the sky was whitish blue, absolutely beautiful. I wonder if anything will be visible here - but I won't be up at 2.30 to look for it!
According to this chart, it will be seen in the DR. Just enter any country in the box and it will tell you if it can be seen.

If its an eclipse, then how come its red, shouldn't the moon disappear? Or it will it be red, and then disappear with the eclipse?

This is a lunar eclipse, not a solar eclipse. The Earth is between the Sun and the Moon. The Moon
falls under Earth's shadow.
A total lunar eclipse happens when the moon passes completely into the shadow of the Earth, taking on a reddish color, which has come to be called a “blood moon.” The red color occurs because even when the Earth moves directly between the moon and the sun, filtered sunlight still shines through Earth’s atmosphere, making the moon appear red.

It was great and on time -03:06 exactly as predicted the Moon went orange not blood red. There was some cloud hear but it was a fantastic sight.
DR is in fact right on the edge of the complete eclipse and sure enough on edge of the moon was brighter than the other.
Great sight! Next one is October!
