You proud cause the daughter of your friend married into (former) slaveholder money ❓
Just wondering...

And "not the slave" had a name:
Nathan "Nearest" Green
"Documentation shows that Green was owned by a firm known as Landis & Green, who likely hired him out to Call for a fee. Green was one of a few enslaved people who stayed on to work with Call after the Emancipation Proclamation. When introducing Green to an 8-year old Jack Daniel, Call is quoted as saying, "Uncle Nearest is the best whiskey maker that I know of." Call reportedly said to Green, "I want [Jack] to become the world's best whiskey distiller – if he wants to be. You help me teach him.""

Not being a man to hold grudges, but quick to educate those who deserve it and call fools out for their utter stupidity lets talk about Gentleman Jack.
It is much better than Old No. 7.
But not the best Jack Daniel's has to offer.
It is fine as a sipper.
But too expensive for me to mix.
When the bottle is done I will no longer be taking space up on my shelf.

What difference would it make that the girl married into (former slaveholder money) They aren't responsible for their ancestors.

One of the reasons I really enjoy Tequila is because of how flavorful it is but light.
A very interesting contrast to whiskey.
But it can be as complex in taste as whiskey throwing off a variety of flavors as you sip it.
Especially an Añejo
One that is especially good is: Avión Anejo
It is the best Anejo I have had a opportunity to taste.
But one of the things I do not like about Tequila is the price here in 🇩🇴 .
Straight sticker shock‼️

Actually, as I am sure you know, C-3PO from Star Wars fame.
Just another protocol droid of this modern age, who is adept at rage-googling, and quoting textbook narratives.
This character wished me a good evening after another one of our usual exchanges where he disagreed with me and then performed a ad hominem attack.
Pretty much par for the course.
Actually, I am having a good evening.
Cause I am sipping on something.
In EAST SIDE ‼️
Tonight it is Ginebra London Dry Gin.
Distilled right here in 🇩🇴 by Bermudez (est. 1852)
Classic Gin and Tonic.
1 Part Gin to 3 parts Tonic
I am really not a gin man.
But every once a while I hit it.

Glyph....
Glyph, right, the flagship whiskey from Endless West, is modeled after bourbon, while Glyph Royal is modeled after Scotch.

Now let's get back on subject:
What brands? Where to get it? Cost?
Mostly Bourbon, but not many know very much about the subject up in here
That is the information I am looking for. My experience in the Dominican Republic is that Bourbon here is rare, expensive and with very few options. And feel free to make comments on taste profiles and quality.

Any others out there enjoy Bourbon? One of the reason I switched to Scotch even though it is not my favorite is that the prices to found on really basic bourbons here in the Dominican Republic amount to what I feel is highway robbery. Anyone wanna ride shotgun?

But I've switched back because over the years I have found a few more options that made me just forget the money and pay.
I am open to all distilled beverages.
Not much a fan of beer or wine.
"Cash rules everything around me! - Wu-Tang Klan. And I am really glad that I did.
That's right.
All my life I been po'
I live in EAST SIDE ‼️
I am looking for value and availability here in 🇩🇴
Because if I cannot buy your suggestion here then what good the information to me❓

Sipping on Evan Williams.
For me it is everything that Bourbon should be.
Taste wise and price wise.
But not here in 🇩🇴
Prices for this most basic of Bourbons is 📈

Yes, that's the article......... Feb 11.... I posted the next day.....12th
No, you did not post the article in #176 ‼️

I do not know if you are trying to be misleading, having difficulties with reading comprehension, had a mental lapse or you are trolling me again.
You posted about a specific product.
The article I posted is about the entire range of quick aged spirits.
They are not the real thing.
They do not taste like the real thing according the article I posted.
But they do represent a new avenue to meet the demand of the market for sprits that do not need refinement.
And it may be that lack of refinement is something you are quite familiar with and enjoy.
But I don't‼️
Besides Bourbon past nine years really has too much of a wood taste for me to really enjoy it.

You see it is the way Bourbon is aged that really gives it much of its distinctive character.
Bourbon must be aged in NEW barrels.
Many other spirits are aged in barrels that have been used to age other spirits.
Scotch is a very good example of that.
Bourbon has a bold taste in a way that Scotch does not.
And with those NEW barrels it does not need as much age to take on the best characteristics of the spirit.
Quick aged spirits will not have the "mouth feel" and "finish" of the spirits that have been aged in the traditional manor.
I hope the general public gulps down the quick aged swill with joy.
Leaving the good stuff for those of us who have good taste and appreciate it.

Right.... not related to the article at all..... my apologies
Apology accepted.
Knowing your aversion anything but Bourbon in your thread.....
It is not my thread.
It is for all of DR1
I just started it.
Because it is one of my personal interests
I do not have an aversion to anything but Bourbon
You know this because we have had any number of pleasant exchanges about any number of subjects here in this thread.

We (and others) have discussed:
Bourbon
Rum
Vodka
Gin
Scotch
Cigars

Now trolls have thrown up a host of pictures and comments that I personally do not find helpful...
But if they like it and it makes them feel good then I ❤️ it.
