Reports are one of those detained had done a Mike Tyson and bit the head of the officer just before he pulled his weapon.
He had every right to restore order.
Hopefully those involved loose their rights to fly again.

I've been to and through MIA numerous times. They left me in Miami late at night with nowhere to go too many times. I refuse to get near MIA. I do believe I have PTSD relating to the trama I experienced at that airport.

I have some compassion for the unruly man.

Bad behavior is all the rage these days.
Unless it goes unpunished, it will continue to occur.
Anger, belligerence, rage.
They are not unusual concepts, even here on dr1...although the punches here fall into the category "sticks and stones".
Nonetheless they are thrown with an intent to hurt and wound.
The world is not a happy place.
Not very merry either.

It was probably one of the guys who usually sits in the back seat, and then pushes and shoves elderly, women and children out of the way so they can get off the plane first. (and then stops to chat with various people all the way to the taxi area)

Ugh, I had one of those behind me on my flight here yesterday. Told him that there is an order and he needed to wait his turn. He didn't like that.

One of these guys was a Dominican going to Santo Domingo to visit his mother. He is out on bail.

Who knows what happened in the build up, but it looks like the accused grabbed the officer's hand, initiating the violence. If that's the case, then the woman screaming that he did nothing in the background of the second video clip is out to lunch . Once you lay your hands on someone, especially an officer, you are escalating things.

FL gov passed some tough laws recently reguarding assualt on a police officer. This fella may be in for a wake up call however he's very lucking this incident happened in liberal Dade County where being a minority accused in a crime works to your advantage. Probably a nice fine, nothing more.

Many years ago, I was on a flight from JFK to Santo Domingo. There was a group of male Dominican teens who were harassing the flight attendants. Touching, etc. This earned us an emergency detour to Dulles with a fighter jet escort. The Marshals boarded at Dulles and escorted the savages off the plane. Don't know what happened to them. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

It isn't even demanded that they respect or obey the authorities in this country. I would have liked to have seen the police use a little more force to teach them a lesson.

Now that airfare is so low on some of these discount airlines any bum can board, just like a bus. I will always pass before I book a discount airlines, it's worse than a bus.

Respect is to be earned and this gang of thugs who currently police this country have a very very long way to go.
