"The mycelium is the vegetative growth of the mushroom which must form before the mushroom creates the fruiting bodies that you will eventually harvest. Once the mycelium is fully formed, the ideal temperature range for growth is just 53 to 60 degrees. Aim for air humidity levels of about 90 percent."

"The ideal temperature for the growth of straw mushrooms, on the other hand, is 95 degrees, although growth can occur at temperatures between 59 and 113. Humidity should be kept at about 80 percent and increased to 90 percent when fruiting bodies are growing."

A greenhouse with humidifier, humidity control & fan can be assembled for less than $150.

My point, some natural conditions in the 🇩🇴 for GROWING mushrooms are difficult to find.
One is more likely to have greater success from setting up artificial situations to control temperature and humidity.

The whole trick to making fresh mushrooms last is to dehydrate them ASAP. I have them done
like that and they will last months in a closed jar or container in a cool, dry and dark place.
When you are ready to have them cover the amount you are going to eat and cover them in
good water for 1 to 4 hours in a bowl or jar and make sure the are submerged in the water
..... and they are back for you to eat.....
What is the best way to dehydrate them (in your opinion)?

I want to try my hand at growing some mushrooms here in the DR even though I think the temps are too high. Bringing spores into the DR from the states concerns me from a couple of viewpoints. A) Doesn't the paperwork coming in say something about bringing in agro products or is that DR to US? B)I wouldn't want those meatballs at DR customs thinking I'm trying to grow mild altering products with "mushroom spores".
Any members know anything about the subject of mushroom growing in the DR?
Are you sure?
