Bus to Samana

I'm visiting DR in march and it's my first time. I have the following two questions:
1. How to take a bus from Puerto Plata or Sosúa or Cabarete to Samana?
2. From Santo Domingo airport, can I take caribe tours bus to Zona Colonial? If not, any other similar options?

1. Not sure of the details, but I'm sure you can. A North Coast member can provide the specifics.
2. No. You can get to the Las Americas Caribe Tours bus station by taxi easily, but they only go to points north (La Vega, Santiago, Puerta Plata, etc.). So you would need a taxi to get to the Zona Colonial. My kid could take you if your group is not too big. We have a Nissan Versa, so 3 comfortably and 4 in a pinch.

There is a small bus(25 passenger) that leaves Puerto Plata at 6 am. It picks up in Sosua about 6:20, in front of the banca across from the Texaco gas station. The bus continues through Cabarete on the way to Samana, but I don't know where it stops. There is a second bus that passes in the early afternoon, but I'm not sure of the schedule. Papagallo is the name of the bus company. The fare is collected on board. Enjoy your stay!

If you are in samana..... take a cab to "El Valle' ! This is a must see !!!!
