Can a tourist bring a car to DR (and take it back)?

The Ferry from Puerto Rico takes cars back and forth on a regular basis. From the US may be another story.

Heck, there has been some pretty large drug busts where cars had drugs hidden in them.

I have seen quite a few cars with PR plates on the road as well.

Not to mention the hidden guns........

I asked a year ago about my Harley, from what I was told, 30 day rule aside, I figured it's be snapped up in 24 hrs. or less.

Isn't it true that after thirty days your foreign driver's license is no longer valid to drive any vehicle, regardless of how otherwise legal the vehicle may be?
