The Premier of Alberta just announced $100 gift card for anyone who gets their first or second shot. I’d hold out to see what’s behind door number two.

At this point we have a few provinces mandating vaccination cards and the federal government promising one billion, that’s right folks, one billion dollars of
taxpayers money to help all provinces to
Implement proof of vaccinations cards and apps. The insanity continues, more so during a federal election.

And anyone familiar with the Chinese social credit system knows where the federal govt is heading with these digital vaccine passports. But Canadians are still sleeping and still can't get a clue.

Curious as to how many people here have ever even heard of the Chinese Social credit system.........and the role it can play in a society that becomes totalitarian. Kudos to you for even bringing it up. Create a panic {pandemic} and watch how it plays out.

Canada, and many other countries, are truly attempting to create a dual society............punishing those whose "social score" is not up to government standards.

As to vaccination rates worldwide, some are based only on the total eligible population and others take into account those who are not yet eligible for any vaccine, placebo-like or otherwise, i.e. those under 12.

Which gets to the craziness of some who have taken 4 jabs and more. Perhaps that gets you a first class upgrade in the Canadian vaccine for travel mandate.

A friend is a nurse in Vancouver. She was spit on by a protester while wheeling an elderly lady in through the emergency doors. He screamed at her to “ Wake the $&@% up”. Ambulances were delayed and parking lots were inaccesible.

But I guess that just comes with the territory now, who does she think she is helping people?

BC Protests

Insanity is an understatement.

We have a client here in the DR about to be given a work visa in Canada. He refuses to be vaccinated.
After he gets that visa (using courier services to and from the DR), will he be able to enter Canada?
Yes he will be allowed to enter, provided he has a negative PCR test, andno symptoms of Covid. But he will have to quarantine. Only the fully-vaccinated, without symptoms, with a negative PCR test will be exempt from quarantine. We have international students and international workers who enter Canada without vaccination, they all have negative tests before travelling and then quarantine. They are not forced to vaccinate on arrival. Personally I know of 1 student and 1 with a work visa who entered without any vaccination and went to the quarantine hotel. Shortly after their negative test in the hotel, they were permitted to finish the 14 day quarantine at home and do a retest for Covid. Immediately after completely their quarantine, they opted to get vaccinated. It was optional. Since that time his university has mandated all students to be vaccinated.

No exceptions for partially-vaccinated travellers

At this time, there are no exemptions from testing or quarantine for travellers who haven't received the full series of a vaccine or a combination of vaccines accepted by the Government of Canada.

The 2 day hotel stay cost them more than $1,000. for a 3rd class crappy airport hotel room with lousy food and a risk of catching Covid.

After having travelled to the DR from Canada today, my question is how proof of vaccines can even be regulated without a system in place.
About 20 minutes before boarding in YYZ, the gate agent announced 3x that anyone traveling to PUJ was required to provide proof of vaccine or a negative Covid test (no timeline). I did not end up needing it.
I logged on to my provincial health care site, had a bit of trouble finding it, but got my proof of vaccination and took a screen shot.
I could have easily forged this, as with my vaccination card as the dates are handwritten and it’s not very official at all.
In PUJ, there was an airport official asking people that were vaccinated to go to a separate line. I was not asked about vaccines again before exiting the airport.

How is this possible when the DR doesn't even require such proof or test to enter?
Did the rules just change recently?
I flew from Montreal to PUJ on August 22 and I was never asked any proof or test whatsoever, from departure to arrival. Just the blue paper form or e-ticket upon arrival. That's it.

I believe that message (was given by Jet blue for return to the US) was meant for the return flight. I know nothing at all about Canada......

My husband flew to PUJ just 2 days before me and all that was mentioned to him was the E Ticket.

Thanks, it looks like he can get into Canada without being vaccinated under this exemption:

Who can enter Canada

You can enter Canada if you’re coming for a non-discretionary purpose. This means you can enter Canada in either of these situations:
You’re a worker who meets all of the following:
It does say he will need to quarantine upon arrival unless somehow he is exempt from that as well, or the quarantine went away as someone else mentioned, or it is the first Tuesday after a new moon and is partly cloudy with a slight chance of confusion.

We return to Canada on Saturday.
Just received an email from Air Canada stating that with proof of double vaccination, I do not require a negative Covid test to enter Canada.
Children under 5 do not require a negative test either.
Honestly with the confusion on the way down here, I really don’t feel like dealing with an airport official at PUJ insisting that I need a negative test.
Has anyone travelled to Canada within the past couple of days? Is anyone going back before Thursday?
