As far as I know, Canada flying down is not open yet.

My wife is 'en route'....
Toronto - Chicago- Newark
overnight
EWR - POP in the AM

Not perfect but no options... flights are still at less than normal routes

From the west - perhaps you can get to FLA or Atlanta to connect....

My point is - it's a peripatetic route.... but possible, nonetheless
Whether it be POP, SDQ or STI.....
Where there's a will - there's a way

Air Canada is flying into PUJ from Toronto on weekends. Air Transat and Westjet said they will start going to PUJ soon but no actual dates.

PUJ is a long from us....... doesn't really work

That WestJet October promise was for September in August
No guarantee it will come to fruition

Their YYZ - AZS route was my favorite

As long as the rule is that you gotta self-isolate for 14 days upon returning to Canada not many people will travel.

Wouldn't be a problem for the 'work from home' crowd

Can't see family or friends, go to the grocery store for 14 days upon return...it has deterred all the people I know...even the work from home crowd. I work in home reno retail...we have never been so busy. I personally don't know anyone planning on international travel this winter.

Is Punta Cana longer to Cabrera for you than Santo Domingo ?

Lots of businesses doing record business

Gardening, home repairs, cooking.... all new pastimes for shut-ins

I don't feel shut in. I wear a mask when out or working. I camp, I travel in country. I have been to restaurants, I shop...it's just the international travel I feel bad about. People are spending their money locally instead of internationally.

I posted elsewhere but my Cdn friend is trading his traditional Jan/Feb trip to Calif for Rep Dom
2 months worth
A US friend is going to buy here...

Not totally doom & gloom.... but not bright , for sure
